About Fat Girl Goes Green

Founded in 2019, Fat Girl Goes Green is more than a vintage boutique. The shop is the brainchild of one very plucky, fat, and sustainably-minded feminist - owner and founder Alyssa.  Tired of spending hours scouring vintage boutiques full of overpriced clothing curated for an army of Audrey Hepburns, and shopping sparse, picked over plus-size racks at local thrift shops, she decided to fill the gap in the secondhand market herself.

Thus began Fat Girl Goes Green - a proudly inclusive, curated collection of vintage Western & Southwestern clothing & accessories for people of all gender identities, sizes and body types.

Alyssa is also passionate about the planet and creating a better society and environment for marginalized communities.  She keeps up to date on current events, especially involving politics and climate change awareness, and the fight for a more inclusive and equal future.  As a plus size queer woman, she knows firsthand what it feels like to be excluded; and focuses her passion into uplifting others, staying educated, and checking her privilege.
